Ready for some fun?

What is Geek Fest's - NERF WARS?

Nerf wars is a fun and safe indoor Nerf Battle event happening at the Moncton Geekfest. The equipment is provided by MVGU a group associated with the Moncton Geek Fest. Participants are given Nerf weapons, eye protection and Nerf ammo. Participants must be 10 years old or older. Between the ages of 10 and 12 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian over the age of 16.

There are 2 types of Matches:
Team Deathmatch (Team)
Last Man Standing (Solo)

During the whole weekend we are going to have two types of play times. Official and Free play.

Free play puts groups of all ages on two teams for a Team Deathmatch. The goal of these matches are to have fun! You can participate to as many games as you want but everyone should get a chance at it, so be fair!

Official matches are very different. This is where only the most amazing Nerf fans will get a chance to match up and test their skills. It’s a tournament style elimination game that put teams or individuals against each other. Participants are divided into 4 different categories based on age, and if they are going as a 7 person team or solo.
Juniors Solo (10 to 14 years old)
Juniors Team (10 to 14 years old)
Seniors Solo (15+)
Seniors Team (15+)
The official matches will have set times and if you miss your roll call (10 Min before the time slots), you or your team gets automatically eliminated. The winner at the end of the tournament will win a small trophy and a special surprise sponsored by MVGU.

During each match, regardless if it’s a free play or tournament official match there are going to be 2 game masters in the room at all times. These individuals are there for your safety and the safety of others. They insure that you play fare, play safe and give it your all!

Rules are simple.
1) No running.
2) Keep your eye protection on at all times.
3) Do not move obstacles.
4) When you're hit, you point your nerf weapon down and return to the spawn point with one hand in the air.
5) If you have a weapons malfunction, point your nerf weapon down and return to the spawn point with one hand in the air.
6) Respect the instructions from the game masters.

If you are caught breaking these simple rules, the GM has it in their power to revoke your permission to participate in any more matches.

If you have any questions please contact a Geek Fest Team Member (GFTM).

This is an introduction and demo of a lesser known RPG universe suitable for ages 14+ (some mature content). The event will last 4-5 hours depending on the number of players and general game flow. A more detailed summary can be given to you for promotional purposes later, but the basic idea is "Samurai Game of Thrones".

Sentinels of The Multiverse (Game Demo)
A mad scientist holds the world hostage with his terrifying inventions. An alien warlord from a far away galaxy brings his limitless army of bizarre minions to conquer the planet. A giant rampaging robot cuts a swath of destruction across the coast, destroying major population centres. And who will stand in their way? A team of heroes, all with impressive powers and abilities stand between the world and the forces of evil. Will you help them? Answer the call to protect the multiverse!

Sentinels of the Multiverse is a cooperative, fixed-deck card game with a comic book flavour. Each player plays as one of ten heroes, against one of four villains, and the battle takes place in one of four different dynamic environments.

Each player, after selecting one of the heroes, plays a deck of 40 cards against the villain and environment decks, which "play themselves", require the players to put the top card of the appropriate deck into play on the villain and environment turns. On each player's turn, they may play a card from their hand, use a power printed on one of their cards in play, and draw a card from their deck. Each round starts with the villain turn, continues clockwise around the table, then concludes with the environment turn. Each villain has various advantages, such as starting with certain cards in play, as specified by the villain character card. The game continues until the heroes reduce the villain to 0 or fewer HP, or until the villain defeats the heroes, either via a win condition or by reducing all the heroes to 0 or fewer HP.
